Cleaning Instructions
eVent Fabric
eVent fabric requires regular cleaning with a liquid detergent. Soap based products will not remove all contamination. Wash at 40°C with any household detergent (without a built in conditioner). eVent garments can be washed with your daily clothes. Once washed, place on an additional rinse and then drip dry. You can then iron the face fabric on a cool setting to rejuvenate the DWR. Be sure to stay away from seams, reflective details or heat transfers.
If your garment has any internal contamination, continuously wash with detergent to remove before ironing.
Over time or after prolonged cleaning you may find that the DWR needs to be replaced. This is the time to reproof the garment. Wash as above making sure to remove all contamination. Then, instead of the additional rinse; do a further wash with pure soap flakes or a specialist cleaner to ensure there is no detergent residue. The garment can then be treated with a specialist reproofing product either in a spray on or a wash in form. The wash in should not be used on shell garments with a wicking lining. Let the garment dry and then iron as above.
Non eVent Fabric
Any non eVent garment should also be regularly cleaned. They should be washed at the temperature advised on the care label with pure soap flakes or a specialist cleaner. Over time the DWR can be reapplied with a specialist reproofing product. Please note that if your garment has a wicking lining then you must use a spray on version.
